Charlotte, NC, October 15th, 2020. High Performance Optics (HPO) www.HPOUSA.com has completed a Licensing Agreement for exclusive use of HPO Selective Blue Light Filtering Intellectual Properties for applications in consumer electronic displays.

“HPO has joined with a partner who is a leader in building awareness and designing application solutions for filtering harmful high energy visible light (HEVL) in the consumer electronics space. HPO will build further from this licensing relationship to explore future solutions to expand the footprint of applications in the consumer electronics space.” said Larry Rodriguez Chief Executive Officer, HPO.

HPO is the world leader in intellectual properties and technology development space for HEVL filtering for over the last 15 years. HPO’s early focus was with applications in and around ophthalmic products. HPO has licensed and developed technology for the largest companies in the world for selectively filtering HEVL in/on ophthalmic products. “In 2014, HPO started to evaluate applications to advance protection from HEVL outside of the eyewear space,” Rodriguez added.  “The target was specific commercial applications with high consumer utilization that expand the number of people that would be protected from damaging HEVL. Auto windshields, auto side glass, industrial building glass and consumer electronic applications were all identified as opportunities to provide additional protection. A world exclusive license, with a significant partner in consumer electronics, is our next step in HPO’s Mission to standardize blue light filtering protection in every application that can protect the human body from the dangers of harmful blue light.”

HPO has world licenses across ophthalmic lenses, sunglasses, contact lenses, transportation (windshield and film applications) and now consumer electronics. Looking forward, HPO has five major projects underway with various global giants across multiple industries evaluating future opportunities to disrupt the damage caused to the human body from HEVL.

About HPO

HPO was founded in 2006 by Dr. Andrew Ishak OD FAAO, through work focused on protecting the human retina from HEVL. HPO’s first application opportunities were in the ophthalmic space where they have now Licensed Intellectual Property (IP) and Technology to some of the largest companies in the world. HPO IP and technology now offer protection for millions of eyes around the world from the dangers of HEVL.

With nearly 100 patent applications issued or pending, HPO stands as the leader in Intellectual property and the development of technology for that purpose. HPO’s Vision “To Standardize Protection from HEVL in every application that can protect the human eye and skin.”
